Thinking of booking either October of February half term (depending on restrictions etc) for a week.
Have done the Canaries and had a few dodgy days where the weather has been awful.
Thought we could try going a bit further for guaranteed sunshine. Looking at Boa Vista.

Went to Sal one March. It was cool and windy and felt a lot like Lanzarote. Boa vista may be less windy but I wouldn't try February.

It’s very much the same all year round so is great for winter sun

Been to The RIU Funana,.....fine for a relaxing holiday lazing by the pool as there is nothing much else to do. Lovely white beaches. If you are happy enough to stay around hotel then it’s great, but not if you want to have a walk to shops and restaurants etc as there is nothing much there.
We went at Easter one year, weather was lovely but also fairly windy.

Thanks. We just plan on lying by the pool or beach and doing very little apart from reading, eating and enjoying the sunshine

We went to the riu palace a couple of years ago on Boa Vista. Really enjoyed it. We were only there a week. We did a couple of tours round the island which was interesting. We went to a nature area at night to see the turtles coming in to lay their eggs then go back out to sea. That was amazing. Great holiday. We went in august.

Check when windy season is - my parents went in windy season and couldn’t use the beach and the sea was too rough to swim.

Went one November to Sal. The weather was beautiful.
I stayed in a major hotel but met a local musician who sorted me and my friends a sort of dune buggy thing? out and we and hung out with them and their friends for much of the week in the villages; liked the people very much, but be warned- there isn’t much to “do”- so if you’re GENUINELY just after lying by the pool/on the beach it’s great. If you like sightseeing- there’s not very much.

I am also looking here for October half term - need some sun! Just concerned that my teen DD may be bored.
