Visiting London - where to stay

I would like to take DS (2.3) to London for a couple of days to visit my sister and his two cousins who live in Bermondsey. I would really like it if DS could have his own room, with a cot, so I didn't have to sit in absolute silence until I went to bed, probably with him refusing to go to sleep I was still there.

All the hotels that I've looked at seem so hugely expensive that there's no way we can afford them, particularly not with two rooms. I'm probably being unrealistic in my demands here but does anyone know of anywhere that we could stay? Are there any family friendly hostels or anything like that? My sister doesn't have the space and the only other people I know in London are my elderly aunt and uncle, and they live miles out with no public transport. I'd be really grateful for any suggestions or advice.

hmm - maybe some kind of B&B eg www.uk-expo.com/bnb/tony.htm - depends how necessary the cot is or isn't - do you think DS could sleep on a mattress on the floor (or does your sister have a travel cot)?
