We have booked a cottage in Yorkshire for March thru www.sykescottages.co.uk which were very reasonably priced. Am hoping to find lots of animal farms and streams to walk along and get really muddy and then warm up at a nice pub!!!

We love Cornwall, and have great memories of when our two were that age, sea, sand, waves, rock pools, ice creams, simple family fun.

The key is not to make it complicated and have too high an expectation.

Dorset is great for kids, there is so much to do that aren't horrendously long car journeys. We stayed at Durdle Door caravan park in May, it was great!

We went to Portland Bill, Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Blue Pool, Swanage Steam Railway and spent loads of time on the beach at Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Swanage

Hi, For next summer - though make it June or September as it's so hot - I'd really recommend Zakynthos. We went to a lovely, low-key self-catering complex in an olive-grove 2 minutes from a shallow shelving sandy beach which was very child-friendly with a lovely little play area - called Daphnes. The website is www.daphnes-zakynthos.com. The owners were so friendly and the place was kept incredibly spick and span.

Good luck!
