Safe to take a 6 week old into a swimming pool?

Off on hols with her this week and wondering if it's okay to take her in the pool as long as i'm careful about water not going on her face... She hasn't had her jabs yet. Any advice?

I thought the advice was not until they had had their jabs.

Our MW actively encouraged us to take DD swimming as long as you have stopped bleeding, even before jabs. Have fun on hols

As long as it is warm and you'll probably find she won't tolerate it very long. have a nice warm towel handy.

I heard it was in case a small child who had had their jabs that day swam past your child while peeing the polio virus out

We took both DS swimming before their jabs. My HV told us it was only an issue when they were using the love polio virus for innoculations. They now use an inactive one.

My local swimming pool will not let a baby who has not had all the jabs into the swimming pool. But that is their policy.

Thanks, all.. It's a small swimming pool at the villa, so I might risk it if I'm careful not to get water in her eyes and ears. I've had inconsistent advice, so wasn't sure.

I dont think any of the things you are vaccinated against are in the water anyway

but when they are small they do get very cold very quickly and i would imagine 5 mins being about enough time.
