RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHILD=-FRIENDLY GREEK ISLAND PLEASE

Hi All,

Okay so we've spent the last 4 years playing it safe in Majorca with our kids (now 5 and 3) but next summer we would like to go somewhere different and have decided on the Greek Islands. Problem is we have absoloutly no experience of Greece with kids so could anyone please recommend any particularly child-friendly places?

We don't want anything too commercial (ie English!) but we do like a good array of bars/restaurants and tat-shops etc.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as a starting point for us.

We went to Corfu last October and had a lovely time with the children. Corfu town is good for shopping and restaurants etc. We went on a coach tour of the island and the kids were welcomed everywhere we stopped. We stayed at the Corfu Chandris hotel which had a kids club etc, though I believe there is an Iberostar hotel in Corfu and we found Iberostar to be very child friendly when we stayed at one in Mexico. there is a waterpark on the island, we did not visit that. The most picturesque part of the island was around Palaiokastritsa where the beaches were like you imagine from the brochures:

crete, went to western part (hania airport) beautiful place, very friendly relaxed, clean, beautiful beaches and sea, coves, mountains, monasteries it was fab
children were most welcome everywhere we went and play in and around restaurants which makes meals enjoyable for you and them...
can highly recommend...

Got back last week - not in a commercial area, lots of child friendly tavernas in vicinity, villas v. child friendly with creche.
