Romantic break in May

I'm looking for somewhere that husband and I can go childfree in May 2021.

It needs to be somewhere can fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh. Ideally somewhere we can laze by the pool but also visit cultural attractions if we fancy it. Love Barcelona but ideally not there.

Any suggestions?

We’re planning to go to Corfu this May child free and flying from Edinburgh. Weather should be warm but not too hot and we’re going to do a combination of lazing by the pool and some sightseeing/ boat trips.

Venice

Love Venice, we were there one year ago for the mask festival. It was amazing.

Seville! Beautiful city, easily walkable, amazing food, great weather in May, lots to see and do but also lovely just to sit and watch the world go by.

If you want to move away from Spain then Rome, Lecce or Polignano al Mare in Italy.

Alicante. The port is close to the airport, necessary when you have only a short time to visit.

I can recommend the Melia Alicante, the premium, adult only area which includes some food and unlimited beers and wine.

Interesting. Unlimited beer and wine you say! Off to google.

Tuscany. Siena & Lucca are beautiful, the architecture & history give plenty of exploring opportunities & the views are stunning. Olive groves & wineries aplenty! But, if hiring a car take out the full waiver insurance. We saw more cars with dents than without! We found the Italian people lovely & plan to return when we have the chance.

Sorrento?

Alienate, Malaga or if it's early May I'd be heading to Cordoba for the patio festival. Check it out. Beautiful small city enhanced by the flowers.
If you don't fancy Spain how about Croatia. Stunning country.

I would recommend Cadiz or Seville in Spain. Also loved Porto.
