Hello

We are spending 10 days in the Lot in August, in lovely hills/rivers and would like to book a week on a holiday park with pool near a village with towns within hour ish of driving. Any particular recommendations or info in difference between areas?

Thanks

In several parts, like around Saint Jean de Monts or Les Sables d'Olonne, the Vendée coastline is quite heavily built up with sea front development. A few places like Les Sables d'Olonne have managed to keep their old world charm, and behind the seafront apartment blocks, les Sablesvstill has an old town, with narrow streets and whitewashed walls. And in other parts of Vendée, away from the towns, there are long sections of unspoiled coastline. Inland, one of Vendées most popular attractions is the Puy du Fou theme park.
In Charente, the ports of La Rochelle and Rochefort are very attractive. Royan is a smart seaside resort and close by is the very popular zoo park at La Palmyre.
