Costa Adeje or Garachico in Oct half term?

I've found what look like really nice accommodation options in either location, but can't decide which will be better. I know the north can be a couple of degrees cooler. Generally, we don't like places that are really built up and we definitely don't like tacky, so is Costa Adeje nice or tacky? We'd be SC in a villa in the north or we could have what looks like a nice apartment with breakfast in the CA. We have two DC, who will be 9 and almost-13 when we go.

We've been to Gran Canaria (Puerto Mogan - loved it), and Lanzarote (Playa Blanca - loved our hotel and the location, but thought PB was a bit tacky) before, but this will be our first time in Tenerife.

The southern end of CA is ‘tacky’ and the further north you go the better it gets .

We LOVED puerto de Mogan, but really didn’t take to Costa Adeje. We did some day trips up to the north of Tenerife and it was much lovelier.

Thank you - I'm leaning towards north Tenerife now (plus the villa is a third the cost of the apartment in the hotel!)
