Hi
Can anyone help me see the wood for the trees?
We fancy trying a train/bike holiday this summer to pretty much any where in europe. I did this as a teen taking the train to the top of the Tarn valley in France and cycling down it, and another time doing similar along the Dordogne.
Now with 3 kids in tow, and costs x 3 it seems a lot more complicated!
Any recommendations of routes?
I'd wondered about train to vienna and cycling the Danube to Budapest.
Would it be more sensible to hire bikes and train there, fly back?
Spain? France? Germany?
Booking bikes on trains? I know France is a pita with this.
We would want days off cycling. Water (river lake sea) always a bonus.
Camping helps reduce costs but we'd need to carry tents etc.
Maybe too ambitious. Argh! Flying back to Sri Lanka might be a more sensible solution.
Thanks for any help :)
