Portugal....Cascais, Lisbon, where else?

Looking to do a 2 week trip at the end of August. We will most likely stay a week in Cascais (never been but heard good things) and do a day or two in Lisbon. The DCs are 8 & 5 yrs.

Can anyone recommend anywhere else to go that would be drive-able from Cascais for the second week?

Not bothered about fancy hotels, kids clubs etc as they're just too expensive in school hols but I guess 'activities' for kids, swimming, cycling etc on some days would be useful. Museums, beaches, nice villages, cycle paths, walking would all be good :-)

No idea for a week but you could have a Day trip to Sintra from Lisbon or Cascais

We did a similar trip a few tears ago. For our second week we drove slightly south of Lisbon to the Setubal area. There are some small towns on the coast like Sesimbra with family friendly activities and also there’s a large natural park. You can take a ferry from Setubal to Troia beach which is simply stunning.
