Has anyone been here? Can anyone please tell me if there is a bus to and from the airport? Also what's this area like? I've googled but the answers vary. Thanks

Hi, I have been here a few years ago. I stayed in a hotel directly by the beach which I enjoyed. It also has a "strip" with the usual bars/restaurants and places to hire bikes, we did and rode all the way to Palma which took many 40 minutes but was well worth it and also has a designated path to do so. However I wouldn't say it is the best area for children and there isn't really much to do so do take that into consideration. Smile

I went there a couple of years ago, solo traveller, last minute break. It was ok, not much to do but that suited me. A few shops, restaurants etc and a pleasant walk along the promenade- watch out for the bicycle lane as it's busier than the road!

If you head south for a few minutes it becomes busier (can't remember the name of that area, sorry) with a much bigger beach and a fair few groups of younger people hitting the bars at night mixed with older couples strolling around and a few families.

As for a bus from the airport, there really is no need as a taxi costs less than €10 and can be found just outside the terminal.

I have been there several times.

The bus is great, or a taxi only takes 5-10 minutes and is reasonably priced.

The area is nice. Very quaint, a couple of supermarkets, plenty of restaurants and pubs. There is a small bay beach which can get a lot of seaweed - along there though there is a nice English eatery which we often visit as we know them now.

Past the marina is a much bigger beach which is really nice but there aren’t any toilets on that one (they’re on the smaller one)

If you keep walking you can get up to Arenal which is mostly German but has a lovely aquarium which is well worth the visit. A good day out for kiddies. There’s also an adventure golf up there which is quite fun.

If you walk the other way you can follow the bay round. We hired bikes and cycled to palma (around 8 miles) which is lovely. All coastal.

We usually hire a car and visit other areas of the island on little day trips which is nice to do. It’s very easy to drive there and doesn’t take long at all.

Enjoy!

Lovely place to go alone. Very small and relaxing. Mel’s bar is the place for the English food and hosts.

Avoid. You would be better off heading west from Palma and going to one of the resorts that side of the island.

The resort is smack bang in front of Palma airports runways.

AttilaTheMeerkat - for me this is an attraction not a deterrent lol. Self confessed plane spotter here!

I can honestly say that I wasn't overly aware of the planes and I spent a lot of time on the rooftop terrace of the hotel. They don't necessarily take off or land in the direction of can p'astilla.
