Puerto Pollensa - OMG, tis Croc city!!!

Just back on Saturday from PP in Mallorca.
The place has been invaded by whole families of Croc wearers, and the beach shops are full of cheap mock crocs.
None seen worn by ever stylish Spaniards or even German vacationers - the latter seem to be sticking firmly with birkies .

They are the most unstylish ugliest footwear ever invented. I cringed every time I saw a lobster red Brit with thigh chafing shorts, a spaghetti strapped top with Mrs Doubtfire bra underneath and a pair of day-glo orange crocs.

Perhaps this message should be in Style section, but I just couldn't bear to do so.

My top holiday tip? Ditch the crocs unless you are under 5 years old.

I agree but for one thing: not even under five year olds should wear them!

notsofarnow · 27/08/2007 18:31

noooooo disagree Ilove mine - most comfy thing I have ever put on my feet.

waits to get shot down............

redtoenails · 27/08/2007 18:36

they are soo tasteless!!

notsofarnow · 27/08/2007 20:19

hmmm but soooooo comfortable

Gingerbear · 27/08/2007 20:50

smeeinit, I know there have been lots of threads about to croc or not to croc, and I was really on the fence about them, as I like comfy shoes too. But honestly when you have seen them en masse on holidaying brits....

And I do own Birkies, so I am not being holier than thou, each to their own etc, but they are not for me.

I think they're the ugliest things going. I can sort of see it for little kids on the beach (a bit like old-style jelly shoes), but why any adult would choose to wear them out in public is beyond me.

I go for comfort every time, but there are plenty of comfortable shoes around that don't look as cheap and nasty as Crocs. And the funny thing is, 'real' Crocs aren't even cheap - they're pricey and nasty!
