Having spent every summer as a child at my Grandparents place near Conwy can thoroughlly recommend North Wales - the only problem is the weather!

Newborough beach on Anglesea is beautiful, the sea goes out for miles and the sand is lovely. Red Wharf is also lovely.

On the North Wales Coast the beaches are still nice, but not quite as spectacular but there is loads to do even if it rains:

Llandudno
Great Orme (tram)
Ffestinog railway
Conwy
Colwyn Bay

Hope this helps!

Shell Island it great...you have three different choices of beach all in the same place. There is a lovely sandy beach with dunes, a pebbly beach with rock pools and then a lovely harbour.

Have a look.... here

It is mid way between Barmouth, and Harlech.

Highly recommended

I haven't been but I was listening to Steve Wright the other day and they were saying about Mwrt Cove - supposed to be beautiful.
