Disney land Paris

Hi everyone my Dd is almost 7 & DS 4, we want to book to go away in May but we're between a cruise( we did one last year & it was amazing) OR taking the kids to Disneyland Paris.
What age would you say is the best for this type of holiday? I don't want to be too old to enjoy the magic of it. Thanks

Took my DD when she was 10 which was perfect for her. I’d say wait until the youngest is a bit older otherwise they might miss out on rides.

Your children are the perfect age. We took ours at 8 and 5, eldest was big enough for the coasters which he loved, youngest was young enough for the magic. We go to Florida next year, DLP feels quite young by comparison.

I took my two this year at 14 and 11. I thought they were the perfect age tbh. I saw lots a overwhelmed tiny kids having tantrums and just not really getting much out of it.

My kids were old enough to go on all the rides, go off to do things themselves while I waited in the queues to see characters, old enough to stay up late and had lots of stamina.

I actually wouldn’t take a kid under about 8, I just don’t think they’d get as much out of it. Also you’re never to old to find Disneyland magical. It was my first time too, and it was amazing!

Your kids are the perfect age. Old enough that you don’t need to worry about 4 hourly feeds or naps, but young enough that it’ll be magical meeting the characters etc.

Disney has loooooads of rides for younger kids. We took our 2-under-2 this summer and they were way too young, but we still got the 18 month old on a few attractions (and she kicked Mickey Mouse 🤦🏼‍♀️).

My now 6 year old still talks about Disney one year on, he absolutely loved it, let's face it most of the rides are designed with young children in mind, so while I don't dispute teenagers will enjoy it too, waiting until 8+ is unnecessary IMO.

If you can't afford to go it again I understand waiting, but if it's not a once in a lifetime thing then of course it's a place children will love.

We went this summer and my DD11 and DS7 both loved it but DD3 was overwhelmed by it all and didn't want to go on anything other than the teacups! I guess your DC are both older than that so should be fine.

I think I'm more confused now haha. My DS is very shy & as much as I want to go this year it's the part that holds me back that he might not want to actually go up to any of the characters.
I'm going to get prices for both holidays & see which I'm leaning towards

@mariposa23 tbh the characters don't wonder around much like they used to, usually you have to queue to see them. A character meal is a good way of seeing them, and they come up to you to sign autographs and have a photo, so probably better than having to go up to them.

We took youngest DD for her sixth birthday. She’s a pretty blasé 11 year old but at 6 the magic was still real! Her face when Cinderella came to speak to her at the Princesses lunch was wonderful and worth every over priced penny! I’d like to take her again but think she’d be pretty ‘meh’ about some of it.

4&7 is perfect, Disney cruise is brilliant too but pricey compared to other lines

I looked at the Disney Cruise it's a lot of money a lot more than we want to spend.
