ANYONE FLOWN FROM STANSTEAD TO MAJORCA RECENTLY? ADVICE ON SECURITY PLEASE!!!

Hello
Boring I know - silly I know...but wanted to ask a couple of things.
DD - nearly 4 (in November)
Eventually managed to get other half to go abroad to Majorca, we know it well as friends are there etc etc ... and have been going since 2000 (me) and 1990 (him).
Going in a couple of weeks after getting him to agree at last!!!! Only taken 3 years to get him to take daughter abroad!!!!!

Firstly, we are not beach people but will obviously have a play and that and take daughter on the beach but not all day everyday. Daughter doesn't mind walking but does winge a lot if she's tired, do you think we should take her buggy? I am not sure but sometimes it is much easier as we can then put her juice and bits in the buggy and saves me carrying them and other half carrying her.

Also, we are going to take her car seat, this can go on the plane which I read on the BAA website and is not used as hand luggage, has anyone been recently?
How strict are they at the moment with getting juice and bits through?

Any advice please!!!

Last time we went I was 7 months pregnant and security wan't tight at all, the only thing was we had the foot and mouth thing (the first time round in 2003!!) and you could take most things apart from milk/cheese etc

WE NEVER FLEW FROM sTANSTEAD WE FLEW FROM mANCHESTER ,but we took juice in a baby bottle and we had to taste it when we got to passport control, we had crisp and little pkts of biscuits and they were ok, but if not using a baby cup or bottle i think you can only take things on board that you have bought once you have been through passport control.I would take her buggy so she can sleep of a night and you can stay out a little bit longer.
Have a good holiday we got back 3 weeks ago and the dc loved it.

did you go to Majorca?
We know Majorca well but never takien dd there but it's great for kids - hoping she'll love it there as much as we do!
Thanks for advice about buggy - although she never sleeps in it we are thinking if she is that tired, she'll be glad to go to sleep in something!
Our friend has a bar out there and we are hoping to stay ut later than usual, our daughter can stay up later than me though which is a scary thought, she's like her daddy! stay's up late and get's up late unlike myself ....
thanks for the advice
x

Here is the latest, and they are strict: if you try and tak stuff through which is on the forbidden list you will have to throw it.
Check with the airline as regards buggy and carset.
There is a checklist you can print out which is v handy.

thanks for that Waynenetta, I checked this out earlier and it was really helpful.
Love the name by the way!

You can buy drinks after security, and frankly this is preferable, if not for you, then for the rest of the passengers who are queuing behind you. No problem with food as such, just liquids.

Bear in mind that in terms of hand luggage bags on the flight you are limited to one per person including handbags.

Buggy - really depends on your dd. We didn't at this age if we were staying in a resort, but did when we did Disney, Florida as we'd there was a lot of walking.

Also Apain i think has introduced a requirement for Advance Passenger Information, so if you make sure that you have given your airline all your deatils before check-in you'll have an easier sail through the airport.

Ime experience flights leaving in the morning have less security hassle than those in the evenings.

Yes we went to Alcudia, we only booked it last minute and didn't do much as we were all inclusive, dont like the beach much and it was a bus ride away so didnt bother but everyone says it was gorgeous, the one thing i reccomend is the Pirate show it was fantastic, my ds 5yo loved it even dd 2yo enjoyed it.
