Longhaul suggestions for Xmas

My DP is 40 next year and we fancy going away for Xmas. We'd have two weeks for the Xmas hols and would like some sunshine but have also dreamed of Xmas in NYC at some point so thought we could maybe do that then fly somewhere in the Caribbean. NYC is not a must as we could always do it later in life but just throwing in in there. It would be for 2 adults and 1 child who would be 7! Thanks 🙏

Following, as we have a similar (vague) plan!

What about a cruise that maybe started and ended in NY?

Jamaica?
Costa Rica?
Mexico/Cancun?

We have done a Caribbean cruise and Mexico over Christmas.
I preferred the cruise as I love cruising but dh and the dc preferred Mexico. We stayed at the Bahia Principe and I would highly recommend it

Sri Lanka?

Would do the Caribbean. Lovely and warm around Christmas.

Miami and then a cruise to Caribbean or short flight even.
Lots to do in Miami for kids and you will have sunshine too.

I also loved Mexico.
