British Airways Avios reward flight

I’m looking into using Avios points to pay towards a British Airways reward flight.
I can see that you get a 23kg check in bag included but I’m wondering if anybody knows if you can reserve your seat for free 48hrs in advance. (In know check in is 24 hrs in advance)?

I doubt it unless you are Bronze holder or above. You could probably use Avios points to serve seats though.

You'll probably find you can't check in online at all. It happened to me when I part-paid for flights with Avios points. I have a theory that if the flight is busy they select you to be bumped, so unless you get to the airport super-early (which we did, 3 hours) they bump you. So just be prepared for that. Paying for seat reservations in advance may help.
