Anyone willing to share their " hacks?"

I love this forum and have had loads of great advice over the years which I have been so grateful for.
I often see people mention how they have got hacks for various aspects of travel - flights, hotels etc.
I spend hours looking at skyscanner air b&b trivago but don't think I have developed any hacks.
What specifically do people do?
I'd love to know or are they closely guarded secrets. ( can understand why they are obviously!)

Skyscanner in the destination box out in Everywhere, then add your dates of travel. It will give you a list of prices to fly to places all over the world. Sometimes it's more expensive to fly long haul but then you can get a really cheap villa if you go out of europe.

As your departure airport (if you're in the South east) put in LON which will give you departures from every london airport (sometime s flight will be a lot cheaper if you depart from Gatwick but return to Heathrow for example)

Play around with dates. If you have a specific destination in mind there is a box where rather than the exact date you can choose the month of departure/return. So sometimes flights are cheaper at weekends, sometimes midweek

I use skyscanner and googleflights.Sometimes multi city destinations work out cheaper. In December I'll fly into Hanoi and back from Phuket which was a very good deal.

Get yourself on the mailing lists for airlines then when the sales come through put your dates in and see where you can go.
Went to Philippines for under £500 each didn’t even know what was there until then. Had a great time.

Collect air miles. Join loyalty clubs.

Same with hotel rooms check different sites for best price once you’ve decided on a hotel.

Kayak.co.uk has always worked out cheaper than Skyscanner for me
I also find it more user friendly.

I find sky scanner a bit crap. I guess it might be better if you can fly from London but it just shows the same old flights from my local airport.
