Best time to go to the Caribbean?

Just wondered when the best time is to go to the Caribbean to avoid the rainy periods, but still hot?

Also, if you have been to the Caribbean before, which month did you go, which island and what was the weather like?

Sorry about all the questions but I’m trying to get ideas for next year, and I’ve never been personally..

I would have a look at flights and see what hotels can be booked with the flights. There is often a good saving by doing this and you can research your favoured hotels via the booking sites to see if other travellers rate them.

Thank you @BubblesBuddy, you've been really helpful, much appreciated.

We accidentally went slap bang in the middle of hurricane season. I didn't realise there was such a thing and thought I'd just found a complete bargain GrinBlush We got lucky though and the weather was gorgeous and only a few showers a day which lasted about 10 minutes and were lovely and warm! I probably would risk going back there the same time one day as we saved thousands. But it is a gamble.

@Nobhobs that was lucky there were no hurricanes! Where in the Caribbean did you go? Would you recommend the hotel you stayed in?

@Redact Catalonia Royal Bavaro, Punta Cana. Couldn't recommend more best two weeks of my life!

I went to Cuba in March /April, it was very hot and mostly dry with just a couple of short rain showers. We travelled around the island, spending time in Havana, Vinales and Trinidad, and stayed in casa particulates. It's an amazing and fascinating country, and I loved the holiday despite a few difficulties along the way (to be expected in a fairly poor, communist country). Appreciate the OP may be looking for an AI type holiday, but thought I would mention Cuba just in case they want something different.
