We are heading off to Paris for a quick break sans children once school has started back and hopefully while its still nice enough weatherwise.
We have never been to Paris before and need some help from those who know .
We need an area thats good for transport links -we might veer off to Belgium if we have time.
Recommendations for hotel/apartment/airbnb that isnt too expensive as we arent loaded and probably wont be spending much time indoors hopefully.Preferably

Try hotelvertgalant.com/

Small 3 star hotel (17 rooms) in the 13th arrondissement. They have ground floor rooms, next to the garden. Restaurant next door is good and owned by hotel. Short walk to Metro and you can even walk into the hyper centre (River and Notre Dame area). Whole street full of food shops and restaurants nearby as well as a street market. No kettle in room though unless you get the one with a kitchenette.

Or if you want an Airbnb, then this apartment was good, very comfy double bed in separate bedroom.

Completely different area to hotel above, near Gare du Nord. Area not as nice, but fine. Carrefour supermarket literally across the street and Metro opposite that, so very quick to get into centre. On a very busy main road but inner flat facing a courtyard so actually very quiet and a genuine Paris experience as mostly locals living in the block.

Forgot to say, there are some stairs to that Airbnb, forget exactly how many but I think it was on the second floor, so 2 flights.

St Germain Cosy Suites.
Ground floor, bedroom bathroom & small living /kitchenette. Short walk to buses & Metro . Lots of cafes in walking distance.
Stayed there earlier this year & would highly recommend. They are cosy but plenty of space for 2 people.

You might struggle with kettles in rooms in Paris hotels. Stayed here and was good for being accessible to most places www.hotelcambon.com/

OP asked for places "preferably under £100" (per night, I assume) and people are suggesting places that cost over double and triple that amount and more!??? Grin Hmm

Have a look at Timhotel Montmatre. It's small and quirky and not commercialised in any way. Right in the square of montmatre up some steep steps but it's beautiful, cheap and right outside some amazing wine bars and coffee houses that come alive at night

Hotel des Arts in Montmartre is lovely, very well situated in a lovely area that is walking distance to Sacre Coeur and the metro. Great value as well!

@buttermilkwaffles
You're right! When I stayed in St Germain Suites it cost us around 100 Euro a night but I've just had a google now & it's much more expensive in September.....oops. My apologies.

Hotel Linterlude 258 rue daunsmil www.hotelinerlude.com. A bit further out but in your budget. There's a metro right on doorstep plus a really good bistro just up the road. I've a code for 15 percent off if you decide to go for friends and family.
If you book with hotel directly they include breakfast

Villanellesproudmum · 25/07/2019 21:11

Woah the hotel I suggested is 2.5 times more expensive this year than I paid!

anitafr · 03/12/2019 08:06

yearinyearout · 03/12/2019 08:07

I stayed her in Le Marais - £111 a night - fabulous area, very chic little apartment. The host was lovely.

Love Le Marais!
