Croatia - where to stay

Looking for good hotel, either b & b or half board. Would like a pool and close to the coast/water plus a shortish transfer (one area has a 3 hour transfer which is just too long)

Just 2 adults going next August budget £1000-1400 for 2 weeks.

Any suggestions? I've looked at Hotel Mediteran in Pula ?

Apartments tend to be much better value than hotels in Croatia and often in better locations. Pools are rare though, so hotel might be better if that's essential. The sea is lovely to swim in though and much nicer than any pool imo.

Not sure where on the coast is as long as 3 hours from an airport unless you are going to one of the islands, most places should be much less than that.

We recently stayed in porec. I think the transfer time was 45 mins. Stayed at Bellevue playa Laguna as a family of 4. Was lovely. Would definitely recommend Porec as a nice resort to stay in
