holiday villa suddenly has a pool/pool alarms?

This year for the first time I rented a holiday villa on a Spanish island. After reviewing literally thousands of villas online, in January, I finally settled for one which had a walled garden. I have two toddlers (3 years-16 months) so this way it felt safest. Lo and behold when I checked the villa last week online (it´s on tripadvisor and airbnb) it suddenly has a big swimming pool in the garden. They must have installed it in the last months, after my booking. Now I´m already laying awake at night by the thought of them wandering off while I´m cooking/sleeping/etc. and falling in. We will be two adults and four kids but we now will need to be vigilant all the time. I think my older kids (and husband) will be happy with the pool but would you know any way of providing a bit more security? A school mum said they had used pool alarm bracelets, any experience with those? Thanks for reading this far!

You would have to be every bit as vigilant as if there were no pool as you wouldn't want them outside unsupervised anyway.

Well you’re going with your DH and two older kids. Hopefully between you you’ll be able to stop them from falling in. You always have to be vigilant on holiday when you have tiny kids anyway.

Realistically you will just have to be vigilant, the alarms are very sensitive but then bare in mind if they do fall in then you’d have to be there pretty quickly. But then you’d be vigilant anyway with toddlers.

The 3 year old I think you will be fine with, we’ve been to the same pools with alarms but no fencing and my 3 year old was sensible and wore a floaty. But when he was younger he was a less sensible and I watched him like a hauck. But I would have kept an eye him anyway as different location etc
