Stopover between Calais & Toulouse with kids....

We are driving to Near Toulouse from Calais and want somewhere to stop to sleep.
Any recommendations? We arrive in Calais at around 630pm local time. I suspect Tours or Le Mans are both too far to get to before bed.....

We have done this drive many times, although starting out the opposite end of the day. Will you not be on the A1 from Calais to Paris? (unless you are going via the non toll roads). The roads are much quieter than here in the UK so try and get as far as you can as it's still quite a trek on day 2. Arras is just over an hour from Calais. Ibis hotels are great for stop overs.

Thanks someone
DH doesn't want to go near Paris!! He would rather add an hour onto the journey to avoid it. Slightly irritating but better than arguing on big road round Paris!!!!

We are so cheap we often stay in an F1.
Very simple.

When we drive to the south of France we usually just stay at the premiere classe in Calais. Cheap but interconnecting rooms. We potter to the beach for a play and leg stretch, eat in a cafe then it's easy for an early start in the morning.

We normally go south via Rouen vs Paris - just over 2 hours from Calais. The Novotel at Rouen Sud is nice. Has a pool, kids get free breakfast and reasonable kids menu. Family rooms.

By way of update : we stayed in a Trio room at an F1 in Orléans (F1 is fhe budget end of the Accor stable).

Basic. Cheap. Did the job of providing a place for the 4 of us to sleep.
Arrived around midnight both times and was on the road by 8am again!
