Cheap winter sun with baby.. Egypt?!

So I'm currently 29w and trying to get my head around holidays with a bub. In the winter for the last few years we've gone somewhere a bit far flung for sunshine, but the budget this year is going to be more like 700pp max due to mat leave.

Temp wise a Hurghada AI seems pretty perfect and very budget friendly. I'm just worried about the potential for stomach bugs for DD, who'd be about 6mo. We'd only use breastmilk/pre packaged formula and sealed foods for her, dunno if this reduces the risk? Has anyone done this? Then I'm unsure about travel jabs.. We're less worried about the terrorism threat, my feeling that as a Londoner I live with a high risk of this already.

Tenerife is another ootion, but I've heard the canaries can be really hit and miss?

Is there any obvious destination I'm missing??

Personally I wouldn't go to Egypt. Too many issues.

Personally I wouldn’t do it, I’ve always had tummy bugs in Egypt and if you get one you risk passing it to the baby however careful you are with sterilising their stuff. My nearly 6 m o has recently had a tummy bug for only a couple of days and when I’ve had her weighed since she’s gone from over 50th % to under 25th between weighing, they are so small it really affects them.
Not sure what else to suggest though for winter sun nearby.

Cape Verde? Weather in the Canaries is not guaranteed and can get really chilly.
I’ve never been to Egypt but would be cautious.
Are there any Caribbean packages you can find? We took ds on honeymoon to St Lucia when he was about 9 months and it was perfect

Don’t do it. Even aside from the terrorism risk, it’s just not a very nice place... I literally hated the whole two weeks when I went Sad

We've gone before and both been fine (although DH went in his teens and got sick big time), but I think you all probably have a point that it's not worth the risk.

Unsure about Cape Verde. The draw of Egypt was the snorkelling, I've heard there's not much to do there and the sea is very rough? It's nice to either be able to swim in the sea or have an interesting town.

The Carribean would be perfect but probably out if our budget? The cheapest I can find is 900pp self catering, which would quickly become pricey as those islands aren't cheap!

Totally get the draw of Cspe Verde for a fly and flop, but we're quite fidgetty!
