Looking for a holiday with DD16 and DS15 and DH. Ideally a week or so doing activities such as cycling, water parks, climbing, kayaking etc with the option to bolt on a few days at a big city.
Thinking Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland or the like. Ideally not too hot.But being close to the see wouldn't be a disaster and a pool would be nice!

Does anyone have any bright ideas for me?? Lacking inspiration. Many thanks in advance. Budget flexible and not bothered about posh accommodation!

Lake Garda has waterpark, Gardaland, loads of places to cycle, hikes into the hills to end up at fab cheap restaurants, and climbing up round Malcesine, as well as activities on the lake, castles, etc.

Chamonix is almost as busy in the summer as the winter - loads to do.

No sea though.

We stayed at Port zeekand center parcs a couple of years ago. Lots of cycling and water sports plus kite surfing. Could combine with rotterdam. We got the ferry to Hook of Holland, so a fairly short drive the other side.

I've never tried them, because my youngest is too young, but I always think Much Better Adventures looks good. Things like kayaking & camping trips in Scandinavia etc.

This campsite is close to Venice and Verona www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/adriatic/ia012-pra-delle-torri/ataglance.html

You’d be able to tag on a few nights in Paris from here www.eurocamp.co.uk/campsites/brittany/bn013-domaine-des-ormes/ataglance.html

Western Norway has a lot of excellent places to climb, cycle and kayak amongst the fjords - city options would be Bergen and / or Alesund. There's a lot of white water rafting, canyoning, caving, ziplining etc. We are headed up there this summer start in Sweden in an alpacka B&B (moose and beavers safaris are nearby, cycling and canoeing on site), then head up to Oppdal (canyoning, white water rafting, wilderness camp including zipline, bow and arrows, family ax throwing etc, moose, reindeer and musk ox safari) - staying in Airbnb cottage there with Norwegian grass roof. Then a week on the beach by Ulstenvik in another Airbnb - seals, otters, eagels, puffins nearby and occasional whale / killer whale and whitewater rafting, ocean kayaking, bouldering, rock climbing caving, Alesund, boat trips around fjords and then on to Oslo. Almost daylight until midnight in summer.

Bavaria or The Black Forest

ScafellPoke · 25/03/2019 07:50

Do you need a guide particularly for climbing or are you self sufficient?

Penguinpandarabbit · 25/03/2019 07:53

Other place might work is somewhere like Area47 in Austria, full of those sorts of activities, also Hintertux there can ski all year as well as other activities.

CoolShoeshine · 26/03/2019 18:58

A bit different but how about a cruise to Norway such as Royal Caribbean which has lots of teen activities on board such as swimming, deck sports, cinema and then in each port do activities like cycling, speed boat trips, kayaking, climbing etc.

Thanks all. I've booked a week at Center Parcs De Kempervennen in Holland (for £1k cheaper than it would be to go to a uk one!!). That way we can do stuff all together, but also gives us the option of doing as little or as much as anyone wants. Done CP in this country loads so know it works for us!

We're going to get the Chunnel and have 2 days in Bruges on the way there and then 3 days in Amsterdam after CP. Sounds fun! All v excited.
Thanks again for ideas
