PinkChick, a completely different approach:
Why don't you buy a larger memory card?

Even 1GB ones (=loadsa pics) you can get
quite cheaply these days.

Sorry if silly intervention..

PinkChick · 10/07/2007 22:07

ive just spent £40 on the bigger one(hold about 55 pics) and cant afford to buy another as this would normally be adequate, i couldnt justify another £30 plus just for the hol.

Wow! What kind of a camera have you got?
And what's the size of the pics?
For us 1-2MB is usually more than sufficient
so we get 500-1000 on a 1GB card.

Anyway, bump bump for McDreamy..

PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:00

??hmm, its a sony, but cant remember the name right now?..the memory card i most recently bought was £40 and it only holds about 50-60 pics???, it is set on max pixels tho?...have i been had?, would i get more if i decreased the pixel size? and would this alter the pic quality a lot?

PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:00

500-1000!..i need to find out what ive got and why im not getting that amount!

OP posts:
PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:05

OP posts:
ib · 11/07/2007 16:06

I also get loads more - about 800 per card. The only thing I can think of is that you may be recording them in a tiff format (ie. uncompressed) rather than as jpegs.

ib · 11/07/2007 16:07

A 128 meg card cost 40 quid?

PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:07

sounds like i need to either a-find someone who knows what to do to change it..or b- get lost in the instruction book

OP posts:
PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:08

yeah, from sony centre?

OP posts:
PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:08

is that cheap? or pricy?

OP posts:
ib · 11/07/2007 16:19

Very pricey indeed! My camera uses compact flash (not a Sony) and I can get 128mb for about 4 quid! I could get a 4 GB card for that money!

PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:20

fecking hell!!

so how many pics 'should' i be getting from this one then???

OP posts:
DaddyJ · 11/07/2007 16:20

£40 for 128MB?
Was that this year or some time ago?

What type is it?
CompactFlash (CF) or Secure Digital (SD)?
Check the size, too.

1GB CF card on Amazon for a fiver plus postage

2 GB Secure Digital (SD) card on Amazon for £7 plus postage

PinkChick · 11/07/2007 16:21

OP posts:
DaddyJ · 11/07/2007 16:22

DaddyJ · 11/07/2007 16:24
