I’m looking for flights and accommodation re the above - BA flights are so expensive - anyone know a cheaper way to get there ???

Christmas is absolute peak. Easter is so much more affordable! Or even late March. Indirect to Antigua would possibly be cheaper but if you want BVIs then that’s 3 flights. If it doesn’t have to be Christmas, I would definitely move the holiday. Christmas is for billionaires!

Norwegian were flying direct into San Juan ( Puerto Rico ) last time l looked that was a much cheaper route to get to the BVI’s. It is one short flight onwards to Tortola but you would avoid Antigua.
Christmas is as said above the absolute peak price for both hotels and flights.

Thanks - my DH is working there so we were hoping for a family Xmas as we are still in the UK but think we will have to change our plans 😢 so actually only need flights and not accommodation but BA now £3800 return for 2 adult and one child .

Try looking at flights to another island and then getting a Liat flight over?

I have flown there on KLM / Air France via Paris to St Martin (SXM) then hopped to BVI on Winair or Liat.
The cheapest flights will probably be Thomas Cook to Antigua , they fly direct from U.K. during the Winter season and are a lot cheaper than Virgin/ BA.
I can’t see the Winter flights loaded on the Thomas Cook site to book yet, so you might be lucky enough to get a cheap seat on the day they are released. Call ThomasCook flights and see what they say.
Good Luck !!!

I just searched again and found Thomas Cook flights out of Manchester on Wednesdays to Antigua in December, can’t see London.
But if you flew 18thDec -8th Jan ,l can see total return fares for the 3 of you for £2231.
Obviously you have to add Antigua to BVI on top.

Straight after New Year will be cheaper, though obviously not what you asked for originally. BA do periodic sales, as do Virgin (and we have had a few bargains to other destinations) but we have never managed to get anything cheap to the BVIs. I can’t imagine they would include Christmas in any offers, it’s obviously peak time with families travelling between the Caribbean and the UK as well as holidaymakers. It’s not a straightforward journey either.

TC don’t fly much from London airports. Stansted or Luton maybe. Going to Puerto Rico might be a good shout. We did this once to the USVIs so if you can get to Tortola, that would work. It might also depend how much time you want to spend in transit. Is DH in Tortola? If not you have yet another journey out of Tortola. Is your child a good traveller? Is DC school age? If not, could you be flexible on dates? I might grab the TC flights because no flight will get cheaper!
