Thinking of taking a trip to Edinburgh some time around Sept / October. It will be to visit a friend but also so that dh and I can have our first weekend away without the kids!

I don't know the area at all so can anyone recommend some nice places to stay, eat or things to do.

Thanks!

If the weather is vaguely nice, go to Ollorosso for pre dinner cocktails on their roof terrace, don't eat there though its v expensive.
