So we are very lucky - PIL are taking the kids away for a few nights in the summer hols. DH and I were thinking of where we could go short haul-ideas appreciated! Ideally warm but do like a city break too!

Jersey or Guernsey? Only an hour or so on the plane.
That’s what we’re considering this year in similar circumstances to you!

We went to Budapest a couple if years ago when we had a child free weekend. We air bnb'd. It was great. A good mix of culture, great food, amazing natural baths and spas.

Zurich is nice. Have a day in the mountains. Swim in the lake. Go for a beautiful hike.

Oh the very thought of going away for 3 days minus kids brings me out in a fever!! I just can't imagine it having been nowhere without ours in 5 years! I think i would consider a city break too..Rome or Barcelona. Or if you wanted to stay in UK i would consider Scotland..Edinburgh or somewhere.

Some fab ideas to get us going, thanks everyone! The ones I hadn’t thought of yet were Budapest and lots of Redtartans ones! Lots to research now Smile

Just booked Budapest for similar ourselves as came up relatively good value for flights and hotels as slightly off season but am looking forward to it especially as it's being suggested so often

Granada - can fly to Malaga and get a bus. See the Alhambra, eat all the tapas, get out into the mountains... beautiful.
