First day back at work and we just had such a fab time with dd (2 and 4 months) that I have to write it down somewhere. We packed in loads of stuff to our 2 weeks but the last 2 nights camping was such a highlight. We went to an family arts festival with her and she had a WHALE of a time. I just have this vision of her standing in the middle of a field transfixed by the live band with all the kids round her singing and doing the actions and then startfing to join in with her funny little dances and songs. Just amazing. She also adored the fashion show we went to there and the pupeteers and mime stuff. It was so great to be with her and see it all through her eyes. Is this too mushy?? Who cares! Forgive me - what was good about your summer?

Going to be mushy too- watching ds and dd having fun in the pool together and them organising a BBQ for us with menus and everything...memories like that get you through the winter!

Ds (five) wandering around Goodrich Castle with a toy crusader helmet on and finding out all about the Welsh Marches and the Mortimers. When we got home he re-enacted the Battle of Mortimer's Cross with Playmobil men (including a lady doctor, a robot on skates and an armed policeman). It made us realise how much he had really enjoyed the holiday, even the boring old history bits that dh and I occasionally inflict on him.
Could have done without dd (one) eating so much sand her nappies were pebble-dashed for three days though!

Ds (8 months) sitting on the beach eating handfulls of sand and laughing

Seeing the utter delight and excitement on my 2yo DD's face the first time she met Mickey Mouse. She was sqealing and jumping up and down so much I thought she might wet herself!!!

Being together - dd said 'Daddy all day', with relish.
