Yes i quite like the red sea

DH had issues with the poverty we saw (I know it exists - I'm just not sure he wants to see it)

I prefered Hurguarda to the other place (name I have forgotten atm )

Idreamofdaleks · 14/06/2007 21:35

what is your budget

SpacePuppy · 14/06/2007 21:39

You can always bring the children's sandpit and splashpool indoors and crank up the heat to 35 degrees.

Katymac · 14/06/2007 21:40

About 1800
2 adults 1 9yo

I work form home - so I NEED to get away

OP posts:
Idreamofdaleks · 15/06/2007 08:35

Is 1800 really not enough for Mark Warner or Neilson?

Katymac · 15/06/2007 09:08

Not Christmas week (at least I don't think so)

Sunsail was about £5k, MW seemed to be £3

Didn't check Neilson

OP posts:
Katymac · 15/06/2007 09:11

Neilson is £3k too

OP posts:
Idreamofdaleks · 15/06/2007 10:52

Hadn't read the title - I thought it was December rather than christmas...£1800 seems like a lot of money but probably isn't much at christmas...Gambia is quite cheap?

Does it need to be bikini weather or just nicer than here?

Katymac · 15/06/2007 11:15

Just nicer than here

Cardi/jacket in the evening

Shorts/dress in the day?

Katymac · 16/06/2007 20:04

OK - I need to fly Sat/Sun/Mon (22/23/24)

I'm not finding much

Miami - not sure of resorts of wherever, as we rented an apartment, but great weather, great beaches and the kids loved it, as did we. Also could do a side trip to the Disney side of things if you're into that.

Katymac · 19/06/2007 14:12

Not sure about America - I'll have a think

OP posts:
DEE7479551 · 19/06/2007 14:32

America would be too expensive for flights on those days I think. How about a carefully planned trip to Lanzarote, no real sailing but tons of other stuff to do.

Have you ever tried a travel counsellor? Christine, the lady that helps me has changed my life on the holiday front.

Katymac · 20/06/2007 15:44

I think DD & I would miss the sailing - but it's worth a look

I wonder if you can sail off the Canaries anywhere?

OP posts:
DEE7479551 · 21/06/2007 14:45

I have seen a few Lanzarote forums in the past. Sorry not to have a link but you may be able to pick up some sailing help there. There is a sailing school in Playa Blanca and a shop in Puerto calero who may be able to advise. The sailing school was closed in February half term so it may just be a summer thing.
