Ordering a Maxi-Cosi car seat

I want to get a Maxi-Cosi 'Mobi' car seat that is available in Sweden, but not in the UK. It's a rear-facing car seat for up to 5 yr olds which they have to have by law over there but is apparently one of the safest types. I have tried asking Two Left Feet in MK to order it, but they won't. Does anyone know of a supplier who will?

Try speaking ot Dorel UK who distribute Maxi Cosi products (and Quinny et al) in the UK. They should be able to advise you althgouh a seat for sale there probably won't be tested to British Standards so you may have to import it yourself.

btw don't use Two Left Feet , they have a poor track record on MN (and have been featured on BBC Watchdog) for not supplying goods paid for and customer service.

I called Dorel in the UK that are the manufacturers of Maxi cosi, and although they gave me names of local(ish) suppliers to me none of them seem to actually sell the MOBI! I spoke to the lady at incarsafety one of the listings from Dorel and they don't know when they are going to get a supply of that particular seat. Dorel were quite unhelpful really saying they don't supply to the UK market as there isn't demand. Surely if they actually gave parents the choice to consider they might find a greater demand than they think! If we didn't have to go to great lengths to get hold of this seat people might actually buy it instead of the TOBI!

have you looked at any other rf seats? i wanted this seat at about a year ago now for ds but it wasn't available here. called dorel who were really unhelpful. decided to try britax who were more helpful and ended up with a britax two way elite. have just recently bought a KISS from the in car safety centre.

if you are near belfast or milton keynes then i would recommend you go there and look at their range of seats. they have most of them in now apart from the mobi as maxi cosi still haven't said when they will be getting them in.

there was a message last year sometime on the rf website saiying they were to be released here soon but they still aren't in the shops.

oh and i don't think you'll be able to buy them online as when i emailed a shop about them they said they didn't think they could ship it as mc want them fitted at the stores you buy them. don't think they really want to sell them here for some reason.... anyhow it has knocked my brand loyalty to them. i will need another baby carrier if i was to have another baby and would have bought another cabrio but don't think i would now. i'm sure britax are just as safe and their customer service is much more friendly/helpful. hth.
