I went mid April many years ago and we didn't even bother with the northern lights as we thought we were too late! Breakfast time in the hotel everyone was chattering that they had been out the night before so can defo happen.

Would love to see the lights I’ve heard it’s ridiculously expensive though

We went this year same time. I'll not lie. It was freezing so you need decent winter gear. You need to pay £££ for food and drink. You may see the lights. We didn't. The best time is up to March. There's an app that does lights spotting spots. Ideally you'll be at the north of the island for viewings.

Absolutely loved it. Amazing place.
