Can anyone recommend a reasonably cheap B&B/Hotel in the Lakes that has a good bar where we can have a few beers in the evening whilst our 2 year old sleeps upstairs, with a listening service? We've got to go to a wedding during the day and need to stop a couple of nights. I've tried google but searching for child-friendly places that aren't expensive is a nightmare. Money is tight.

we've recently stayed in Bowness in a self catering cottage (own fridge for the wine) if you google cambridge house (I think the web is www.cambridgehouse.net) and go to their self catering tab it shows you Revels Stones, it's a lovely cottage and extremely close to the lake too.

There's some very child friendly pubs where we sat outside till about 8.30-9.00pm until we toddled off to put the DS's to bed and we then shared another bottle of wine "hic"

hope that helps
