Good value Amsterdam hotel?

Does such a thing exist?

On all the travel sights there is very little for under £100. Even a hostel was prices at £160 a night for 2 people!

I am looking for a room in April for myself and teenage son. Not looking for luxury just somewhere to sleep that does not break the bank.

Try the train hostel; cheap and quirky!

We stayed in Zaandam near the station. 10minutes into Amsterdam

Try looking in The Hague instead. It's incredibly close by train, much nicer to stay in and cheaper.

We found looking for hotels in Amsterdam a struggle, paid ££££ for somewhere not v nice at all and then stayed in luxury in the Hague for a fraction of the price. Vowed if we ever went again to commute in and out as the journey is so short.

Have also stayed in v nice AirBnB in Utrecht looking at BikeSkiRun's advice above. Utrecht is lovely.

Where did you stay in The Hague? DD will be going to uni there (in 2019), so it will be good to know a great place to stay.

Haarlem is another great place and 10 mins on train.

I think we stayed at La Paulowna in The Hague. It's not in your budget but possibly the loveliest place we've ever stayed. The luxury bathtub was something else.

They also have a vegetarian restaurant which is fab too on the ground floor.
