DH and I have wanted one for a while, and when one came on ebay really nearby we just went for it, thinking it was just hitch on and go I bought a caravan magazine (as you do) and there is all sorts in there, stuff about batteries and wiring, insurance - all sorts. I guess I better start at the beginning - does DH need a difference licence to tow a caravan? Do you have to insure them? Where do you keep one? (no drive)We have found a place but it's ages away. How does it stay still when you park it? How does it not tip when you walk in it? Can I pull up a bench seat in the back to have a cot? There is a million and one more, please help me!

As far as I know if you have got a full car licence you can tow a caravan. Yes you can insure them. If they are like trailer tents etc they will have legs that pull down to level them and I would have thought some sort of brake/locking system on the tow bar. Perhaps the caravan club would be helpful to you

Happy caravanning - i'd love one but don't have anywhere to store one.

From what caravanning friends tell me, you need to know about stowing and towing. this may help.
