Where to go in October half term?

With a 12 and 13 year old?
We are after a nice resort where we'll see some sun. Near a nice town and good food. Up to 4 and a half hours from London airports. Does anyone have any suggestions? Budget of around £6000.

Costa Adeje Tenerife. Lots of decent hotels and restaurants and good reliable sunshine in October / November.

Sicily - We've been twice, a different side of the island each time. I preferred the NW - flying to Palermo and we rented a fab beach house here in Alcamo and did day trips to Erice, Trapani, Segusta, Scopello (twice for snorkelling), San Vito Lo Capo and Monreale.
