Going shorthaul for a week on Wednesday, was only planning on taking a cabin bag each but have just noticed the small print that the baggage allowance is only 6kg each - that’s nothing, isn’t it? Shock

Adding 20kg hold bags each would add another £200 to the cost and we’re skint. Sad

I know I’m an idiot for not checking the small print but we all managed with cabin cases last year so didn’t think it would be an issue until I saw that. Do they actually weigh your cabin bags?

Can’t you spare some room in a couple of cases for him to pack his stuff in?

I was only joking when I said DH would have to wear all his clothes. Grin I think 2 cases may have been enough but just want to make things les stressful for DS.

Great OP, now you can relax and hope your DH gets the job too. Your hold luggage allowance is loads if you're going somewhere warm, so don't worry about that.

So you just all need a small bag for the plane with any essentials for the flight, electronics, medication etc.

I've only flown TC once and they weighed my hand luggage on the way out at least (can't remember about the way back). I had a small back pack that was about 7 kilos mostly due to my diving regulators, which you aren't supposed to put in the hold, and they got sniffy about the weight, so I took my phone, purse and kindle out of my rucksack and put them in my jacket pockets and everything was fine.

Of course I stopped at the next bench around the corner and put everything back in my rucksack and carried on my way.

Are you allowed a handbag as well as your carry on bag?

Just wear all the cloths. Simple

Or

Get a poachers coat and put all your cloths in the pockets.

Well we’ve arrived! Grin
DH’s cabin case weighed in at just under 6kg and the rest of us had an under 20kg cabin size suitcase but they didn’t weigh anything and lots of people had cabin cases with them. Hmm

I can’t help feeling I’ve wasted £150 but of course if I’d chanced it they’d have weighed everything - just gotten to forget and enjoy my holiday Smile Wine

Forget about it OP, just have a cocktail and enjoy your holiday!
