Driving back from Spain to Cherbourg-where to stop?

Hi there

Driving back from Spain to Cherbourg and appreciate recommendations of where to spend one night - nice town/resort and hotel recommendations. We have three teenagers so somewhere not too quiet!

Well I suppose the ideal stop depends on how far South in Spain you're coming from. I guess wherever you're staying in Spain, you'll be using the A837 in France. Just past La Rochelle, you'll have the option to take the A83 via Nantes (which is a very nice stopover) or the A10 via Poitiers. There's very little difference in journey time. We've done both. If you go via Nantes, I'd recommend a stop there as it's a really lovely small city and I'm sure teenagers would love Les Machines des L'ile. However, if you're not particularly bothered about being in a town, I'd suggest staying at Futuroscope Hotel just outside of Poitiers. Futuroscope is amazing.
