Villa with private pool within a resort?

Helipad · 11/08/2018 18:20

We're looking for a family holiday Aug 2019. Ideally a private villa or suite with a private pool as my sun bed anxiety is getting worse Grin. But the DC (10 & 7) like to meet other kids, do activities and see tacky evening shows, which means hiring a private villa isn't an option.

I've looked Daios Cove but I think it may be little bit too quiet. Is there anything else similar but bit busier? We are prepared to pay a fair whack.

I've just been having a look at one in Elounda, Greece. £10k for a one bed with jacuzzi and shoving two teens on a sofa bed, both of them 6ft tall, hmm, Or, you can upgrade.......

Caribbeanyesplease · 12/08/2018 19:52

Absolutely superb

bookgirl1982 · 12/08/2018 19:58

For that budget you could hire a villa in Barbados with own pool and a cook.

How about the new IKOS hotel in Dassia, Corfu?

Not what you're asking but have you considered a cruise? Obviously you don't get a private pool and there really are other people around! DS loves it and it works well for us as a family. I use the sun lounger on our balcony, which, in my experience, has always been quiet. Great views! I'd go for a family friendly but not too family friendly line like Celebrity. There are some great Family Veranda cabins but not many of them, need to book early & be lucky to get one.

thehairyhog It's always been May half term when we've been to Sani too. We've always have had one rainy day but otherwise sunny and very warm. In May it's been excellent value but August the rates are pretty eye watering. Sani has spoiled me though, everywhere else just seem slightly shabby in comparison.

Caribbean As mentioned before, we've been to Sani three times previously. Twice to Sani Beach and once to Porto (forgot about the Porto when I mentioned it earlier in the thread). It is a fabulous resort and would love to go back but it's only the Beach Club that has a villas with a private pool. And come with a 20k price tag in August.

Heman My friend recommended Ikos resorts too, just checked Dassia and it is also 20k for August (villa with a private pool if I remember correctly).

For that budget you could hire a villa in Barbados with own pool and a cook.

Possibly for a week only
But no flights.

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:12

Have you considered a swim up room OP?

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:12

Also blue lagoon village kos has suites with private pools

Helipad · 12/08/2018 20:16

Our budget is up to 10-12k (you can't take it with you and so on...) for 12-14 nights and hopefully AI or at least half board. This doesn't have include flights as due to DH job, we are able to book flights on airmiles.

In my head 10k should get a lot but it doesn't seem to be enough for a private pool villa within a resort Confused. Most upmarket places I've checked seem to be several thousand more Shock

Ah that's a shame OP. We went to the IKOS Oceania a couple of years ago - it was amazing. I'd like to try the Dassia or Kos hotels next year.

EleanorRigbey · 12/08/2018 20:18

Hi, check out www.ddbc.pt/index.php/en/. It isn't as far down the Algarve coast so shouldn't be as windy.

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:19

I'm doing a swim up at sensatori by tui this year. That's been over 5k for all inclusive me and 3 dc....

Caribbeanyesplease · 12/08/2018 20:20

You’re not going to get that OP

No chance. So start considering other options.

Swim up room, AI, luxury. You should be able to get 10 nights including flights for that. But not too end luxury, no chance

Caribbeanyesplease · 12/08/2018 20:21

Whatnextfred

Where?! And how are your children and for how long?

I’m alone with my two and love sound of swim up

Caribbeanyesplease · 12/08/2018 20:21

old

EleanorRigbey · 12/08/2018 20:22

Posted too
Soon, it's the Dunas Dourdas Beach Club, its only 30 mins from Faro airport. Stunning spot.

youarenotkiddingme · 12/08/2018 20:24

Bahia Del duche is AMAZING.

Spent Yeats living in Tenerife staring at it from the beach outside 😂😂

WingingWonder · 12/08/2018 20:24

Holiday village Rhodes- the deluxe section has private pool bungalows

lurker101 · 12/08/2018 20:28

We stayed at Daios Cove two years ago (Mid-May) and had a fantastic time. Our pool was quite cool at that time, but I imagine it would be much warmer in August (ours was unseated).

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:32

@Caribbeanyesplease Ibiza. Dc are 10,8 and 5. Couldn't handle the scrum of the main pool as sole adult

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:33

Sorry, a week for that price

Whatnextfred · 12/08/2018 20:35

The swim ups look really amazing though. And I've been to sensatori before so am confident in style of resort and quality of food etc

Rookiemummy2018 · 12/08/2018 20:35

Elounda in Crete? I have a friend who goes back every year, she gets a private 2 bed apartment with private pool and raves about it, also because it is the best value for money
