If we liked Cavtat & Dubrovnik...

Where else in Croatia might we like? Family of 4, two older teens, like mix of beach/sea and history & culture. City to visit and explore, and small town/village as a base, with good food and wine!

Hvar.

Kotor in Montenegro. We flew into Dubrovnik and drove over the border. It is beautiful.
Rovinj in Croatia is also on my list but haven't been.

You will probably like Korcula (mini Dubrovnik) - we stayed in Lombarda on the Island and it offers so much - you can hire small boats - loads of water activities and its fun to have a speed boat taxi over to Korcula town or Rovinj further up the coast (Istria)...very pretty...safe for teens to go out exploring - lots of bike rides etc (The Lone Hotel is really nice).

Thanks for the replies, all sound wonderful. We loved sailing and kayaking last time, and DH and DCs are huge GoT fans, so lots of interest.

How easy is getting to and from the islands, would staying on the mainland and visiting islands be easier?
(The only time we seem to fall out on holiday is when we're trying to find, or waiting in queues, for public transport) 🙄

Anywhere along the coast between split & Dubrovnik, with the Biokovo mountains behind you.

Look at Brela, Makarska & Baska Voda. All beautiful fishing ports.

Another island to consider is Brac, again just off the coast of split with easy access by Ferry/Hydrofoil.

The island's main resort, also known as Brac has amazing white sandy beaches (unusual in Croatia) and is featured on lots of posters. Depending on the age of your DC, I'd also look at Supertar which has a lovely shallow bay. I learned to swim there in 1976 and still have fond memories.

If you are looking at the island of Hvar, Jelsa is another good resort.
