Girly holiday for only 2 people

My best friend and I are thinking about planning a girly holiday, just for the two of us. Neither of us have really done this before (late 20s) so don't know where to start!

I'm a bit worried, would it work with only 2 people? Whenever you hear about boys/girls holidays, it's always with a boisterous bunch of about 6 people!

Where would you suggest? We'd probably be looking at about 3 nights (we both have young children). Somewhere hot with nice beaches, a little bit of exploring in a town, yummy places to eat, some fun activities to do... And of course, night life! We'd prefer bars where you can chat but also dance, rather than packed out nightclubs with everyone off their face!

All suggestions and comments welcome Smile

I've been on four short holidays with my closest friend from uni. The first one was the best; we went to Barcelona. We spent a little bit of time on the beach, but neither of us really enjoy sunbathing. One of the highlights was the evening bike tour which included drinks on the seafront promenade and stopping to watch the magic fountains. The shopping was excellent (Zara, Mango, Desigual etc... as well as some amazing food markets) and we loved the tapas bars. There are lots of touristy things to do (we enjoyed all of the Gaudi attractions, parks, La Sagrada Familia, aquarium and Moung Tibidabo amusement park).

Barcelona is great because there's all the city things as well as the beach so you can do both. Do you want hot weather?

millimat · 18/07/2018 23:29

Oh yes you do Blush I should read properly!
Mahon in majorca is meant to be great for that type of holiday too.

Malaga.
I didn't like Barcelona. Too busy and touristy.

frenchfancy · 19/07/2018 08:38

I agree that Malaga is better than Barcelona.

Palma in Mallorca is my favourite city break destination. Fabulous eating places, a beach, an old town, great shops...

MrsPatmore · 19/07/2018 13:06

Ibiza!

Awesome, I'll look into all of these. Mallorca could be fun, we could pretend to be on Love Island (except with less coupling up due to DHs at home haha)

Portals Nous in Majorca is lovely, it has it's own little beach. We stayed at the RD Costa Portals Hotel which was cheap and cheerful. Have a drink down by the super yachts and dream one is yours!
Palma is only around 20 mins away and is fab for sight seeing, food and drink. Loved it.

Seville? Easy access from airport, amazing tapas options, hotel with a pool would do nicely.

Another vote for Barcelona Smile

MISHGS · 25/07/2018 06:15

I vote for Rome! There's lots of great sightseeing and the food, weather and shopping are great too Smile

MISHGS · 25/07/2018 06:21

Sorry just read the bit about beaches..... 😬We went to Venice this year and the Venetian coast is gorgeous - the weather & food is great, less sightseeing than Rome but the views take your breath away. Enjoy - all my girly holidays were just me & my best friend - full of great memories.

donajimena · 25/07/2018 06:24

Malaga gets my vote. Have a great time wherever you go.

I've done loads of holidays with one girl friend - week long typical sunshine trip and weekend city breaks. I think Majorca could work for what you are looking for.
