Venice or Berlin in February

Th and I are going to have a weekend away together in February and I can't decide if we should go to Venice or Berlin. Neither of us have been to either city before. Any suggestions for which might be better?

We went to Berlin in Feb a few years ago ... it was freezing, minus 10 in the daytime one day. Such an amazing city though.

I do like winter and am quite excited at the thought of it being properly cold, but I am a bit worried when we go there the cold might be more than I was expecting!

Venice.

Berlin is much nicer in spring.

Berlin is beautiful early summer/late spring.

Venice is very atmospheric in winter, and there might be fewer tourists around too. Last time we were there we were the only people in St Mark's square.

I'm not going again because I don't want to spoil the memories.

Venice is my favourite place, lived there for a while, but February it's Carnivale so depending when you go it could be very very busy and expensive/ hotels fully booked.

Been to Berlin in the winter, was very cold but had a great weekend. Lots of very interesting museums to warm up in.

Either would be a great choice.

I definitely went there in the winter and it was empty, but I do think we went the week or two before the carnival, true.

I was looking at the week before carnivale, because a) I thought it might be nice to have it more quiet and b) I looked at pictures of carnivale and all the people in masks freaked me out a bit

Just got back from Berlin. Had the best time. Probably my favourite city that I have ever been to, and I've been to most of the top cities.

We went to Venice in February, it was lovely, got snow and was colder than I expected but magical as ever. Have a lovely time.
