We’re flying into Bordeaux tomorrow (14th July), picking up a hire car and then driving west about an hour to stay in an apartment in a small Dordogne village. We won’t arrive to our apartment until late afternoon (4/5-ish) and our contact there has already told us that most of the supermarkets enroute will probably be shut after lunch. We were planning to pop to a supermarket to stock up before heading to our apartment.
Our hosts have offered to get us a few bits and pieces from the village in the morning but we would rather not have them go to that trouble and arrive with sufficient provisions . Our flight lands at about 1pm.
Does anyone know whether there are bigger supermarkets that might be open near to Bordeaux airport? Does Bordeaux airport have a small supermarket in it? (like the mini- Tesco/Sainsbury equivalents you get in some UK domestic airports)
We’ve only ever holidayed in Brittany before and we’ve never been in France for Bastille Day.
Merci!
