Ile de re taxi/bus

Hello

Try as I might I have not been able to book a taxi to meet our flight tomorrow at La Rochelle (no response or fully booked). One company said there was no need as there was a rank at the airport. Is it easy to pick up a taxi there? I have heard the airport is quite small. My written French is ok to email but my spoken is not really good enough for the phone!

If it comes to the worst I suppose we can get the bus but will have 2 small DCs so would rather not...

Any advice? Thanks!

My memory from a couple of years ago is that there aren't many buses per day from the centre of La Rochelle to the Ile de Re, and the airport bus to the centre is not very frequent, and non-existent on a Sunday. That may, or may not, help!

There is a taxi rank at the airport, normally 2 or 3 cars. Hope you got one. For anyone else going it is worth booking taxis a week or so in advance -especially for the busy summer Saturdays.

What French fancy said. IDR is gorgeous.

We did in the end- one of the drivers eventually got back to me! But I would second booking.

It is very nice indeed and thankfully a bit cooler than SE England this week!
