Want to be near an attraction, lots of bars, restaurants nearby and also bus stops and metro near. Someone has suggested Rue Washington near the Arch but hotels are around £200 per night!

If you look around Hôtel de Ville / Bastille / Le Marais you'll find lots of smaller hotels for lower prices, surrounded by bars. Paris is the easiest city to navigate on foot so don't be put off by looking away from Champs Élysées which is so expensive it's ridiculous. I lived there - prob takes 30mins to walk from Bastille to Concorde (bottom of Champs). Bus and metro very easy to manage too.

Oh and then the Louvre is on your doorstep.

You're right a heck of a lot cheaper!!! Dont know this area just feel as it's our first time being in a touristy area with lots on the door step would be best for us

It's a really touristy area - honestly. Champs Élysées is all very well and good but the cheapest drink you'll find is in McDonalds or Quick!

My last hotel stay in Paris was in the Hotel de Petit Moulin in Le Marais. Great (and slightly quirky) hotel with rooms designed by Christian Lacroix. It was really easy to get to central Paris from there and the Metro was a really short walk away.

Agree with Scooby. Area round the Arc de Triomphe is actually not that convenient for many of the sights, and I find it more sterile/boring than Bastille or Marais area (although we did stay in a nice airbnb just near the Arc last time we went!)

Have a look at the Astotel chain. We've stayed in two of them and both were great
