Cephalonia- best beaches with tavernas

We have a car and can drive all over the island. We have two ds who are 6 and 3 so prefer sand, but pebbles are fine too. We prefer somewhere with a nice taverna with lovely fish or Greek grill, the ds are good eaters, so lunch out is nice, as we are self catering and usually eat in at night. Looking forward to your recommendations for anything else too please.

In my opinion, the best beaches and most beautiful part of the island is around Fiskardo. The beaches are mostly pebbly. There are some with tavernas but can't remember any names, sorry!

Yes, we thought we would drive up to fiskardo one day, it does look beautiful! It has all the old buildings, doesn't it, as most of the island was flattened by an earthquake in the 50's.

When we go, we book (through our package company - we do package holidays, I’m afraid) a gorgeous all day boat trip. Loads of swim stops plus a barbecue on the beach cooked by the captain

You can’t beat a freshly cooked souvlaki and Greek salad picnic on the beach gazing at the beautiful sea there..

And now I want to go back!

I can't think of a beach that doesn't have a nice taverna next to it.

We went to Svoronata for a day last year, it was the warmest, loveliest water I've ever been in, filled with tiny fish. Just gorgeous.

Enetika Taverna at Avithos Beach is good.
