Where to holiday in Croatia?

We're considering Croatia for next summer, but we know very little about it really. We don't know anyone who's already been to get reviews/recommendations either.

Has anyone here been to Croatia? What area did you go to, and what did you like/dislike about it? Any travel agent recommendations for good deals?

TIA

We have been many times to Croatia and absolutely love it. Friendly people, clean and feels very safe. Probably not the place for a sandy beaches but absolutely stunning tree lined coves. Dubrovnik is busy and expensive but still worth a visit. Loved Rovinj and Porec. We had a few days in Split and a week on Hvar town, Hvar island which was amazing. Back to Split this year with a few days in Markasha. Also liked Pula and Zadar. Each place has it's own charm and character. Hope that helps.

We went to Bol which is a town on the south of Brac. It's a ferry from Split and then about 45 mins on the bus but it was so worth the journey. It was really chilled out, nobody hassled us to buy anything and the food was great- lots of lovely fish! We don't normally like going back to the same place but have already decided to go back to Bol because it was so lovely.

We had a fabulous holiday in Baska Voda on the Makarska riviera one year.

Went to Split last year and it was lovely - great historic city with good beaches and access to Hvar and Bol via the ferry. Would go again and don't say that about that many places! Didn't cost a fortune either - we had a lovely central apartment

Just got back from 4 days in Dubrovnik and I'm in love with the place! It is quite expensive for drinks in the old town but there is so much to see and do.
