Accidentally booked a hotel room for 1!

Booked a non refundable hotel room for 1, it's the same price as booking for 2, do I need to ring the hotel to amend my booking? Too scared in case I've kicked it up and lose the reservation and the money!

They won't just cancel the room because you've asked so you need to call them and find out

Is it a generic chain hotel? I'd just give them a call. Very few hotels around with single beds though.

Rtmhwales · 02/05/2018 14:31

No, you’re fine. Unless it includes free breakfast in which case I’d call up and ammend it but it won’t muck it up or change the price. Hotels are generally the same cost for 1-2 people and go up after that.

ScreenQueen · 02/05/2018 14:31

Is it a double/twin bedded room? If so you should be fine and I'd not notify any changes. I would print out confirmation no additional charges for 2 people staying though, just in case you're questioned

Madeline18 · 02/05/2018 14:34

Yes it's a king bed and notes breakfast for two on the booking so hopefully it will be fine!

I'd let them know, they need to know the names and numbers of the guests who are staying , it shouldn't make any difference if the price is the same.

Presuming it’s not a single bed room and you have booked the correct room... but do let them know as otherwise you’ll probably get there to find not enough towels or toiletries, one bathrobe etc. and a quick call/email now saves the hassle of taking it up with housekeeping when you arrive. If it’s a place that charges a resort tax then these are usually per person so that might be an additional charge as might be breakfast if that’s included in the rate. But don’t panic they won’t cancel your booking!
