Pushchair on flight/sun tent

We have a silver cross reflex pushchair which is ideal for a holiday as the hood comes right over for sun protection etc, but I’m worried about taking it on holiday and it being broken on the plane...

We don’t really have the room for another pushchair, plus anything with any kind of sun cover is around £35 and not great - would you risk taking the pushchair? I’m guessing it’s covered on insurance which is a £50 excess or do you claim through the airline? Just trying to think of everything.

Also, we have a baby that could be crawling when we’re away but might not be... what do you do by the pool sun wise ? Does anyone recommend taking a sun tent or is pointless if she’s crawling?

We hire a pushchair when we're there! It saves so much hassle and there's always a buggy hire company (google is your friend), we pay about €20/25 for a week IIRC - which may sound a lot but honestly it saves in the stress of worrying about a broken pram and it's less stuff to carry about

We take a pushchair every time. In fact we've just bought a new silver cross pop to take this year. Love the hood for sun shade. Never had any problems with damage.
